Tilda with Spring Bundler - Magnolia-licious DT

A special Tuesday "Hello" to my blogging friends. I hope that you are having a wonderful week. Here the weather is quite Springy, and this reminds us of the beautiful transformation that happens around us in nature, and hopefully within us as well.

While thanking all those of you who joined us for the last challenge at Magnolia-licious (there were so much lovely creations!), we invite you to join us again for a fresh Challenge which starts today, with the "Anything Goes" theme using stamps which you can find at the STORE.

This time I prepared a shaped card for the challenge, using the stamp Tilda with Spring Bundler from the HE2010 Collection. She is cute, don't you think?

If you like her, you can find a mini-version of this cutie at the Store HERE, I just love those minis as you can even use them to do a matching envelope or something of a smaller scale on the inside fo the card.

Tilda here was coloured with Distress inks on Langton hot pressed watercolour paper, and I used some Stickles on small parts of her clothes and on her boots.

DI that were used:

Skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick (cheeks)
Hait: Walnut Stain, Antique Linen
Clothes: Pumice Stone, Black Soot, Aged Mahogant, Spun Sugar
Boots: Aged Mahogany, Spun Sugar
Grass: Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Black Soot Background: Stormy Sky

Papers are Magnolia Paper (a special thanks to the sweet person that sent such gorgeous paper my way! - you know who you are, big hugs)

Supplies used: Cream organza ribbon, vintage button, paper doily, flowers, Stickles, round sentiment stamps, punched flowers, self adhesive rhinestones

Dies used:

Go-Kreate for the base card, then Tim Holtz and  Nellie's multi frames.

For the inside I continued with the same style, and left a panel for some personal message. Sentiment and heart on the inside are from a Sugar Pea Designs set, stamped with Walnut Stain Distress ink.

Before I leave you free from this babbling, let me remind you that Magnolia-licious Store is taking pre-orders for the newest Magnolia release: IT'S SPRINGTIME COLLECTION 2017

Dare... Mo Manning DT

How are my blogging friends? Are you having a wonderful week? We are right in the middle of it, and I am here today to share with you my first DT project for Mo Manning.

For my return to the fabulous Dream Team, I chose the fabulous "Dare" as my main image. Every time I looked at this image and wonderful quote, I could imagine it framed and on a wall or shelf, so I decided to create an altered frame and use it as birthday gift.

First I began working on the frame, which originally was lightly coloured wood. I covered the frame with Distress Crackle Paint, working with various levels of crackles, to give it more of an interesting look.
This is the effect it acquired, after leaving it to dry and adding Walnut Stain Distress ink in the crackles for more contrast.

You can notice the different sizes of cuts, which make it very beautiful. Obviously, the centre and focal point needed to be the wonderful Mo Manning image; so I only added to the frame a gold coloured embellishment in each corner.

Image is coloured with Copics,  and the metal brads, sentiment and papers are from my stash.

I hope that I hear from you what do you really think about this project. It would be fun if you leave a message here, but you can also come and join us for some Clubhouse fun on our Fb page, HERE, and if you have already used this image before, you can share your link it with me.

If this is the first time that you've seen this Digital image and would like to give it a try, you can purchase it instantly, by clicking HERE. It is not a complicated image to colour, and it's really a wonderful one for a man's card or gift!!

Big hugs to you, and I hope you have a wuuunderful week!!! Blessings sent your way my friend.

I shall enter this project into Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge

Hear from me soon!!
Hugs, Rosette

Dreaming Tilda - and some good news! Sooo excited!!

A happy hello from me once again!!

I hope you are having a wonderful week, I am here today to share with you not only a new project I worked on for a couple of days, but also a very HAPPY NEWS!

I was asked to join the fabulous MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS STORE's DT, and I really couldn't say no!! It is a magnificent online Store which carries stamps (Magnolia. CC Designs, Whimsy stamps etc), Magnolia Doohickey dies and many more goodies! Go see for yourselves to check the wonderful prices and the super sale where you can do some happy shopping!

For my happy debut, I worked on a project, where I challenged a bit my usual style. I chose to work out an amalgamation of "Tim Holtz mixed media style" with Magnolia cuteness. The result is the following:

Before I go into detail, let me tell you that at Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog we have a new Challenge for you, and the theme for these two weeks is "Anything Goes - with an option of Ribbon."

Now allow me to babble with more details on my project, maybe, who knows, I inspire you to try it yourself as well!! (let me know in the comment section if you do, I will come and see it!!)

I started working on the quote panel first, using Tim Holtz dies as a stencil (the circular patterns on the upper and lower left side). I inked some of the pattern and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

Next stage was colouring the panel with distress inks, and this after I added two Tim Holtz masks to create some effects. I used Peeled Paint, Dusty Concord and Antique Linen sparingly over all the sides of the panel, working lightly towards the centre. Once the ink dried, I stamped part of the tree with Memento Rich Cocoa and the quote with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

The third stamp I used was the butterfly, and for this I used purple ink - Versacolor Violet.

All the stamps are from a Tim Holtz set. Phew, I think I had them for two years or so, and I couldn't pluck up courage to give it a go! But this week I took the plunge, as they say.

I finished working on the panel by adding droplets of Walnut Stain and gold ink to give it a vintage look. Edges were also distressed, using a scissors blade and then covered with Walnut Stain.  Last but not least, I misted the panel with water to give the DI a boost and create an "antique" feel on parts of it.

Here you might see better the effect and shine of the gold ink droplets and the overall composition.

Now we get back to some Magnolia love! :) I have coloured two images for my project, two of the stamps which I love to use time and again. They are not the latest Magnolia stamps, but if you are lucky,  you can still grab some of these at the Magnolia-licious Store with an amazingly discounted price for you to play with them!

I coloured this sweetie with Copics, and on the pretty flowers I added Mulled Lavender Stickles. I chose her because for me she represents Hawaiian beauty (maybe the flowers in her hair!) and I always imagined Hawaii to be one of the most beautiful places in the world (see the connection of my imagination with the quote I used? :))

I added this cutie on foam pads near the quote panel.

Embellishments used on the front of my card are: a round doily, lace, gauze, and some lovely light purple organza ribbon, which I passed through a gold vintage button - I like the button as it has a special place where I could stick a flat-back pearl on). I just love the effect it gave!

I finished the front with some faux white stitches and Mulled Lavender Stickles around the edge.

Now onto the inside part of the card:

This is the second Magnolia image I used : "Tilda with tag", a stamp which is found as a cute mini-version at the Store, in a very convenient low price here.

Go grab 'er while you can, as it won't be much before they're gone!!

Once again I coloured with Copics. Then I masked Tilda and worked on the background to coordinate it with the main panel of the front. You can see the swirl masks, part of the tree branches and the quote behind her. This work was done after I die-cut the image with oval Spellbinders die, leaving Tilda's feet dangling underneath.

As you might have seen, I also re-altered a box I had which had a butterfly cut on its top. I added some of the ribbon I used on the tag which I put in behind the panel, and that that cute butterfly which had the same colour scheme : purple and black. It did not have any green, bit that's's ok).

The sentiment I used on the inside is computer generated - a free digi sentiment from the very talented Paulette at Create with TLC.

I added some fragrance oils to give to a friend of mine as a gift... do you like fragrance oils? I looove putting some in my room once in a while, they give me that relaxed feeling :)

Sorry for the long post.. but this was a particular project for me, and giving details might encourage someone to try this style. Seeing an artist like Tim Holtz doing such a project might seem intimidating (it was for me), but although it IS time consuming, I can now say that it is manageable! :)

I leave you with the last picture, and last but not least, DO come over at MAGNOLIA_LICIOUS challenge blog to check out what did the fantastic design team members prepared for you today. We would LOOVE to see your project there and get also inspired by your awesome creativity!!

Shawn, owner of the Store is generously giving one random winner a $20 Gift certificate to spend in the Store!! Wowee... I could remain there, seeing all that gorgeousness in the Store. Go and check it out, and then take your chance by participating. You could be the lucky winner - I was some weeks ago!! And now I'm here, as part of the DT!

Praise God, I cannot be any happier! :)

This is the whole bunch, with the tag, which was behind the quote. I just love it!! Sending you all a VERY big cyber hug and thank you to those who take the time to leave a comment. I sooo love to hear from you!

Stay safe, and Smile!!!

Sweet Tilda as a Shepherd

Hello lovely peeps!!!

I hope this week has started off brilliantly for you, just as it did for me :)

Today I have a new card to share with you - this time it's a cute criss-cross card, featuring Tilda as a Shepherd. This was from the 2010 Easter Collection (yeah, quite a long time ago, but nowadays antiques are more valued !! :)) She IS cute, and as Easter is next in line, I thought why not use it again?

This time I experimented and risked more with colouring, by adding more detailed grass and a cloudy sky. I will continue to perfect this skill, but I really love the effect. Actually all the colouring (Tilda and the lamb are coloured with DI, while the grass and sky are coloured in Copics) came out very nicely, at least I am pleased with it! :)

This is the insert of the card, which I decorated with die-cuts, gold ribbon, self-adhesive flat back gems (can't do a card without them, at least if it is not a masculine card), and a punched butterfly; embellished with pearls and Stickles.

From this angle you can notice the dimension of the flowers, the Stardust Stickles on her socks, on the lamb's cute blue bow and on Tilda's hair bows.

In this image one can observe the completed card - with the insert in place. I also got to play with my new Parsley and rocket salad die; I really like the effect it adds to the bouquet.

Materials used for this card:

Papers - Magnolia for the main card, loose paper from my stash for  the insert (don't know the name)

Embellishments: paper doily, lace, self-adhesive pearls, flowers form my stash, Stardust Stickles, White gel pen

Stamps used: Magnolia, Stempelglede (for the inside of the card), and the round sentiment stamp - I forgot its name - sorry!

Dies: Magnolia, Sizzix Emily Atherton, Spellbinders Circles and Scalloped Circles, Spellbinders swirls.

Distress Inks used:

Skin: Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo, Worn Lipstick
Dress and bows: Stormy sky, Weathered Wood, Black Soot
Shoes, Pumice Stone, Black Soot
Staff and Hair : Antique Linen, Walnut Stain
Lamb: Pumice Stone, Black Soot, Antique Linen, Worn Lipstick
